    Hi Friends,

Ryan Andrew Balas' second feature film CARTER, which we produced at the end of 2008, will have it's World premiere next month in New York City at The Anthology Film Archives as part of the NewFilmmakers Fall Series.

At the age of 17, Jeb made a bet / vow that if he wasn't married by the time he was 23, he would kill himself at the age of 25. Carter takes place 3 days before his 25th birthday.

"In three days, Jeb is going to kill himself, and he's never been happier."

A film by Ryan Andrew Balas
starring Mark Robert Ryan, Julia Porter Howe, Deirdre Herlihy and Richard Buonagurio.
    The movie is playing on
Tuesday, November 24th, 8:45pm at Anthology Film Archives

    The theatre at Anthology Film Archives is located at;

    32 Second Ave, New York, NY 10009 (212) 505-5110

    Tickets are only $6!

For subway directions, take the Lexington Ave 6 train to Bleeker Street or the F to the Second Ave Station.

The final director's cut of CARTER has received some good reviews, after an under-the-radar screening in the UK at the Deep Fried Film Festival in August this year, and after being selected to premiere in Australia at the Sexy International Film Festival in 2010. Here are some kind words that have been written about the film...

"A powerful film that at times feels like Richard Linklater... spectacular performances throughout."
    - RogueCinema

"Carter is about idiosyncrasies in human behavior. You feel a genuine connection with these characters that’s hard to ignore."
    - Sonic-Cinema

"It's important to note that Balas's experimentation in Carter is primarily structural in nature. Godard and Motlagh conduct experiments in form and film language; Carter is an experiment in time and the arrangement of time."
    - TurtleneckFilms.blogspot

"By journey’s end Balas’ “experimental narrative” reveals a filmmaker that isn’t afraid to take risks—both with his actors and with his audience. Yet he also stimulates thought."
    - JamesWeggReview

"It's not much of a stretch to say that the movie is comparable to some of Warhol's films....you'll find a lot of love here"
    - MoviesMadeMe.com
